Dhaka, May 11 -- Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that efforts are underway to bring former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to the country through the Interpol.

He stated, "This process is ongoing at all times. A formal request has been made by the government, and Interpol is proceeding according to international law."

He made these remarks to journalists on Saturday morning after inspecting the immigration system at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The adviser added, "Interpol will not act based on what I say. In this case, they will act according to their own rules and regulations."
