Dhaka, March 16 -- The University Grants Commission (UGC) has officially named a new university integrating seven government colleges in Dhaka. It will be called "Dhaka Central University," aiming to enhance higher education management in the capital.
The decision was made on Sunday during a meeting at the UGC building in the city's Agargaon. The meeting included a 32-member delegation of students who participated in discussions on the matter.
After the meeting, UGC Secretary Fakhrul Islam confirmed the matter to the media saying, "The name 'Dhaka Central University' will now be sent to the Ministry of Education, and from there, it will go to the Advisory Council.
