Dhaka, March 12 -- Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin said consumer confidence has rebounded due to stable commodity prices and a smooth supply chain, crediting the interim government's proactive measures and policy support for businesses.

In order to continue this momentum in the long-term, he said that there is a need to streamline the policy issues and thus meet the deficits in the local production and in imports.

"As a result of various measures and also because of enabling further trade operations, we're now witnessing comfort, although temporary in the market by the grace of Almighty Allah," he said.
