Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- BNP senior leader Salahuddin Ahmed said on Monday that the party is actively exploring the formation of a broader political alliance ahead of the next national election to uphold the spirit of national unity.
"We're considering building a wider coalition with the parties that have joined us in past simultaneous movements, as well as with others, so that together we can overcome the electoral challenges ahead," he told reporters.
Salahuddin, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, made the remarks after paying tribute to party founder Ziaur Rahman by placing wreaths at his grave along with Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal leaders and activists on the occasion of the organisation's 47th founding anniversary.
