Dhaka, July 27 -- To ensure a fair and peaceful upcoming election, law enforcement agencies are actively working to recover all illegal weapons across the country, including those looted during the recent mass uprising, said Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Adviser to the Interim Government on Home Affairs.

"We haven't yet been able to recover all the weapons, but we're trying. The remaining ones will be recovered before the election," he stated, urging everyone's cooperation.

He added, "Political parties are the main stakeholders in the election. They need to play a key role. Narayanganj has adequate logistic support. However, if any additional support is needed, we will ensure that it's provided."
