Dhaka, Sept. 12 -- Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Thursday said thatBangladesh plans to deploy 80,000 military personnel in the national polls of February.
"For the national poll, the Army personnel will deploy 80,000 troops. The Air Force will be present, RAB,the Navy, Border Guard, Ansar also police," he said.
He added, arrangements are already under way, with joint training programs for personnel from different forces. Adviser Jahangir Alam more added that "Police training has begun. All other preparations are ongoing. We hope the election will be peaceful, fair, and festive," drawing parallels with the lively DUCSU elections at Dhaka University.
