Kulgam, June 29 -- There was a narrow escape for a family after a decayed walnut tree fell upon their residential house in Behibagh area of south kashmiri's Kulgam district in late evening on Sunday.

An official told that walnut tree was uprooted in late evening and fell on the house of Mohd Altaf Shah son of Gh Nabi Shah of Behibagh Kulgam leaving it partially damaged.

"When the tree fell, the family was inside the house, adding that no one was injured in the incident", he said.

Locals have demanded compensation to the affected family they said is financially weak.
