Qazigund, Jan. 29 -- Launched in 2015, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), promised to provide affordable housing to the poor. However, owning a house under the scheme is still a distant dream for a poor family in Qazigund belt of Anantnag district.

Abdul Aziz Sheikh son of Habibullah Sheikh of Damjan, Qazigund, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), expressed his frustration, stating, "I have been living in a tin shed with my wife and one daughter. I submitted my documents in several times. Despite our repeated pleas, the block administration has never taken our requests seriously."
