Srinagar, March 24 -- Anganwadi workers and helpers from across Kashmir staged a protest outside the Chief Minister's residence here at Gupkar, demanding the implementation of the Minimum Wages Act.
The protesting workers urged the government to address their long-pending demands without further delay.
Holding placards and raising slogans, they, as per the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said they have been working tirelessly but are not being paid as per the Minimum Wages Act.
"We have been serving the community for years, yet we continue to receive meagre wages. The government must implement the Minimum Wages Act so that we get what we rightfully deserve," one of the protesting workers told KNO.
