Jammu & Kashmir, May 12 -- The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains blocked for the second consecutive day following a series of mudslides in Ramban district.

The highway was rendered impassable after multiple stretches were hit by landslides triggered by intermittent rainfall, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded and causing major disruption to passenger and goods traffic.

Officials from the traffic department confirmed that restoration efforts are currently underway, with heavy machinery deployed to clear the debris. However, the slippery and unstable terrain, compounded by continuing rain in the region, is hampering progress.
