India, Sept. 9 -- NEW DELHI - In a major boost for Indian car buyers ahead of the festive season, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has released its tentative price list for September 2025, reflecting significant reductions following the GST Council's landmark decision to slash GST rates on small cars from 28% to 18% and abolish the compensation cess on vehicles.
This move is expected to make entry-level and mid-size cars more affordable, with price drops ranging from 8.5% to 9% on models like the Alto K10 and Wagon R, as hinted by Maruti Suzuki Chairman R.C. Bhargava.
