Jammu & Kashmir, June 30 -- Ahead of the 38-day-long Shri Amarnath Yatra starting from July 2 with the flagging off of the first batch from Yatri Niwas Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir Police has significantly bolstered the security arrangements by establishing joint checkpoints at multiple strategic locations across the district.

These checkpoints have been set up in coordination with paramilitary forces to ensure a seamless and secure pilgrimage experience.

An official said that the joint checkpoints are operational round-the-clock in high-sensitivity and high-mobility zones including National Highway points, city peripheries, and routes leading to the Bhagwati Nagar base camp.
