India, Feb. 17 -- Uproarious scenes were witnessed in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday over BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa's remarks that Kashmiris have encroached land in Jammu.

As soon as Question Hour ended, Congress MLAs Irfan Hafiz Lone and Iftikhar Ahmad stood up, demanding that Randhawa apologise for his remarks, reported news agency KNO.

"Chor Machaye Shor, Chor Machaye Shor, Kashmiri Ko Badnam Karna Band Karo," Irfan Hafiz Lone shouted.

Congress MLA Iftikhar Ahmad accused the BJP of maligning Kashmiris.

"First they defamed the Pir Panchal region, now they are defaming the people of Kashmir," he said.

MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed added that the member who accused Kashmiris of being land grabbers is himself a land grabber.
