Srinagar, Aug. 13 -- According to the causelist, the matter is likely to be taken up by a bench comprising Chief Justice of India B R Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran.
On December 11, 2023, the apex court unanimously upheld the revocation of Article 370 but directed that assembly elections in J&K be held by September 2024 and its statehood restored "at the earliest."
The latest application, filed by academician Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and socio-political activist Khurshaid Ahmad Malik, seeks directions to the Centre to restore J&K's statehood within two months.
