Srinagar, June 10 -- According to officials, the accused-identified as Barkat Ali Parray alias BK, son of Ghulam Mohammad Parray and a resident of Gundhassi Bhat, Sheltang, Srinagar-was found using the photograph of the SSP CI Kashmir as his WhatsApp profile picture. Parray allegedly used this fake identity to threaten individuals, including organisers of online gambling platforms.

CI Kashmir acted on credible intelligence and tracked the suspect through his digital footprint. He was apprehended on June 9 at Jahangir Chowk, Srinagar. During a routine check of his mobile phone, police found that his WhatsApp account, linked to his personal number, featured the SSP's image as the profile picture.
