India, Feb. 3 -- A fire broke out at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Qazigund on Tuesday morning, causing damage to a portion of the school building and leaving two fire service personnel injured during the firefighting operation.
Officials said the fire alert was received by the District Fire Control Room Qazigund at around 8.38 am, following which fire tenders from Fire Station Qazigund and Fire Station Tunnel were immediately pressed into service. Firefighters reached the spot and launched operations to contain the blaze.
The fire affected parts of a double-storey, L-shaped structure with a GCI sheet roof, resulting in extensive damage to the roof and ceiling area. Officials said timely intervention by the fire servic...
