Srinagar, March 24 -- Responding to a cut motion raised by MLA Kupwara, Mir Muhammad Fayaz, Minister in-charge of the Election Department, Javaid Ahmad Dar, informed the Assembly that Rs 150 crore was spent on conducting the 2014 Assembly elections. He further stated that the release of funds to clear liabilities from the recent elections is under active consideration by the Government.

"The recently conducted Assembly elections incurred an expenditure of Rs 155 crore. The matter of releasing funds to clear liabilities is under active consideration," the Minister said, as per news agency KNO.
