Srinagar, Feb. 28 -- Meanwhile, as the Valley prepares for the sacred month, fruit and vegetable markets in Kashmir are already stocked with fresh arrivals, ensuring a smooth supply for the holy month.
Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Association (KVFGDU) Chairman Bashir Ahmad Basheer on Thursday said the Valley has sufficient stock to meet the growing demand.
"Every day, around 5,000 to 6,000 fruit boxes reach Kashmir, with 400-500 boxes per vehicle. As temperatures rise, the demand for fruits like watermelons and melons, especially during Ramazan, will increase, and supply from outside will also go up," Basheer said.
