Srinagar, March 14 -- Upper reaches of Kashmir including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Peer Ki Gali, Zojila Pass, and Sadhna Top received fresh snowfall, while intermittent rains lashed the plains, including Srinagar, on Friday.

The MeT department issued a yellow alert for Saturday, warning of intermittent light to moderate rain in most areas and snowfall in the higher reaches.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the MeT Department, stated that a brief spell of light rain and snow is expected at a few places in the morning, with weather conditions improving by the afternoon. He further predicted generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from March 17 to 24.
