Srinagar, June 11 -- Gusty Windstorm Blows Away Rooftops, Uproots Trees

Srinagar: Kashmir Valley received light rainfall on Friday giving some respite to the residents who were reeling under intense heat wave conditions from the past few days.

The rainfall started in the Valley on Friday evening, dipping the mercury by a few notches and bringing much sought relief to the people from the scorching sun, officials said. Srinagar, the capital city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.0 degrees Celsius, seven notches less than the temperature recorded on Thursday.
