Srinagar, July 16 -- According to the Meteorological Department, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of just 21.0degC on Tuesday-9.1degC below normal for this time of year. Similar temperature drops were recorded across Kashmir, with Qazigund at 20.2degC, Pahalgam at 19.7degC, and Gulmarg chilling at 15.0degC.

In Jammu division, too, the mercury remained subdued. Jammu city recorded 30.6degC, which is 3.4degC below normal, while places like Banihal, Batote, and Katra all hovered between 22degC and 26degC-up to 5degC below the usual.
