Srinagar, March 17 -- As soon as the Question Hour began, MLA Surankote Choudhary Muhammad Akram stood up, demanding action against the police personnel responsible for assaulting a woman, who was protesting against the deaths.

"It a matter of serious concern that a lady was kicked by a police officer. The House should condemn it," Akram demanded.

Legislators from NC, Congress and PDP also stood up, demanding action against the erring police personnel.

NC's Nazir Gurezi questioned," Is it a police state? Can police shoot, arrest anyone? Is there no law for the police?"
