Srinagar, Feb. 18 -- A top official stated that the impact of the ongoing water crisis on wildlife was "negligible".

He said that most of the park's wildlife resides in the southern aspects of the region, where water remains accessible. "There is adequate snowfall in higher reaches like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Baltal, and the upper areas of Dachigam, ensuring a steady water supply for wild animals," he said, as per news agency KNO.

He further clarified that while the human population might face difficulties due to reduced water levels, the ecological balance remains intact. "Nature has its own system-first, wild animals and plants sustain themselves, and then human settlements follow," he said.
