Srinagar, June 9 -- According to Kashmir Weather, Qazigund in south Kashmir was the hottest location, registering 33.6degC-an alarming 6.8degC above normal. Pahalgam, typically known for its cool summer weather, recorded 28.7degC-4.8degC higher than usual. Other notable highs included Kupwara at 32.5degC, Kokernag at 30.8degC, and even hill station Gulmarg, which recorded 23.0degC-4.3degC above average.
"This is an intense and widespread heat spell," said weather expert Faizan Arif. "Such anomalies are becoming more frequent in Kashmir's summer patterns, and people should take necessary precautions."
