Srinagar, Feb. 8 -- Since December 7, 2024, a total of 17 people-including 13 children-have died from an unidentified illness. While no new cases have been reported in the last 20 days, and all previously admitted patients have recovered, the fear and uncertainty continue to grip the village.

Residents said that while the government's preventive measures have helped contain the crisis, they remain deeply concerned about the lack of clarity regarding the cause of deaths. They urged authorities to expedite the investigation so that appropriate safety measures can be put in place and normal life can resume without fear.
