Srinagar, Nov. 16 -- National Conference MP from Srinagar, Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Sunday delivered a sharp and expansive rebuttal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's claim that he had committed "political suicide" during the Budgam bypoll, declaring that he has no ambition to enter the Union Territory Assembly and will not be part of any political arrangement that "betrays the people."
Addressing workers at his Budgam residence after returning from Germany, where he received a grand welcome, and later speaking to reporters, Ruhullah said Omar Abdullah's remark only reflected a "smallness of thinking".
