Srinagar, March 13 -- Gulmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla, Gurez in Bandipora, and a few other places received fresh snowfall overnight that continued till morning, they said.

They said most plains, including Srinagar, were lashed by moderate to heavy rains.

The Meteorological department (MeT) issued a 3-day 'yellow alert' as rains and snow lashed Jammu and Kashmir for the second running day today.

Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that prevalent weather conditions are expected to prevail till March 16, saying that the intermittent rains and snowfall are expected at many places during the period.

However, he said that there is no forecast of any major weather activity till March 16.
