Pulwama, Nov. 13 -- Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a man who allegedly impersonated as Anti-Corruption Bureau official "with an intention to extort money" from a person in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

"Acting swiftly on a complaint received from a person belonging to village Dadsara Awantipora that one person stopped him while he was driving a car near Toll Plaza Awantipora and introduced himself as Anti Corruption Bureau Official," a police official said in a statement.

"The person had searched the complainant's car and taken his phone number," the official said, adding, "Later on during evening hours, the person called the complainant on phone with the intention to extort money from him.'
