India, Sept. 30 -- Srinagar- Authorities on Tuesday relaxed the curfew in violence-hit Leh town for almost the entire day, allowing markets to gradually reopen and providing relief to residents who had been under week-long restrictions, officials said.
Earlier, the curfew had been eased for just two hours on Monday, following the completion of last rites for four people, including a retired Army personnel, who lost their lives during clashes between protesters and security forces on September 24.
On Tuesday, the curfew was initially relaxed from 10 AM to 2 PM and subsequently extended till 5 PM. With the situation remaining largely peaceful, no restrictions were imposed after 5 PM, although shopkeepers voluntarily closed their establishm...
