Srinagar, June 2 -- "We're not just upgrading systems," said Dr. Majid Zaman Baba, the Controller of Examinations. "We're changing how the university functions."

That shift was noted by University Grants Commission Chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar, who praised the campus for using technology where it mattered most. He singled out the Central Library, now fully automated, calling it a "model" for academic institutions across India.

Inside the library, students check out books with a swipe. Catalogs are online. Records update in real time. "Before, you'd waste hours looking for one title," said Rehana, a postgraduate student in literature. "Now I find it on my phone, pick it up, and I'm done."
