Srinagar, April 30 -- The ongoing heatwave has affected several parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Meteorological Department (MeT), advised residents to stay hydrated, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid outdoor activities between 12 PM and 3 PM during peak heat hours.
The MeT has forecasted brief spells of showers, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, from May 1 to May 5. A dry spell is expected from May 6 to 7, with light rain and thunder possible on May 9 and 10.
Notably, on Tuesday,Pahalgam recorded the highest-ever maximum temperature in April on Tuesday, as a heatwave swept the valley, with all weather stations registering above normal day temperatures.
