Srinagar, Nov. 21 -- - Days after a family from Budgam district alleged that their newborn boy was swapped with a female baby at the SKIMS Bemina (JVC) here, the authorities on Monday exhumed the body of the newborn for DNA sampling to ascertain the truth.

"The body was exhumed in order to conduct DNA sampling and match that with those of the family members .The samples have been taken and it is going to take some time" SHO Bemina Ravinder Pal, told Kashmir Observer Monday.

Last week, a family from Patlibagh village of Budgam alleged that their newborn son was exchanged with a dead girl by the staff at the SKIMS (JVC). Following the serious charges, police had registered a case and started a probe to verify the allegations.
