Srinagar, July 1 -- Chairing a high-level meeting of top civil and police officials, Sinha called for filing of FIRs in previously buried cases and immediate steps to provide government jobs on priority to the next of kin (NoKs) of the victims.

"The time has come to bring justice to the families whose loved ones were brutally murdered. Those responsible cannot be allowed to continue working in government offices," Sinha said, according to officials present in the meeting.

He instructed Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police to take urgent action in freeing land and property of terror victim families that may have been illegally grabbed by terrorists or their sympathisers.
