India, Jan. 12 -- The 27-day-long Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will begin on February 2, with the Omar Abdullah-led government scheduled to present the budget on February 6.

The fifth session of the Assembly, spread over a three-month period, will open with an address by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on February 2. This will be the second budget presented by the National Conference government led by Omar Abdullah since it assumed office on October 16, 2024, marking a continuation of the democratic process after nearly six years of central rule.

According to the calendar issued by Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, the Budget Session will conclude on April 4.
