Srinagar, March 22 -- Following the Question Hour, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, on behalf of Finance Minister Omar Abdullah, tabled the Jammu & Kashmir Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill-2025.

The bill aims to bring J&K's GST law in line with recent amendments in the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act. The proposed changes are regulatory, focused on tax administration, and do not involve any recurring or non-recurring expenditure.

Since the imposition of central rule in J&K in 2018, the legislative powers of the J&K Assembly have been vested with the Parliament.
