Srinagar, Feb. 15 -- The National Games, inspired by the Olympics, brought together top athletes from 28 states, 8 Union Territories and SSCB, competing in 34 different sports disciplines. J&K's contingent, comprising 108 athletes (87 male and 21 female), demonstrated their skills across 14 sporting events, including Wushu, Boxing, Netball, Fencing, Gymnastics, Judo, Yoga, Cycling, Water Sports, Archery, Shooting, Taekwondo, and Wrestling.
Their participation was made possible through the support of the J&K Sports Council, which played a pivotal role in sponsoring coaching camps, equipment, technical support and ensuring the athletes had the necessary resources to compete at the highest level.
