India, Feb. 23 -- The Embassy of India in Tehran on Monday issued a fresh advisory asking Indian nationals currently in Iran to leave the country by available means of transport, including commercial flights, in view of the evolving situation there.

In the advisory dated February 23, 2026, the embassy said the direction was issued in continuation of an earlier advisory released on January 5, 2026. Indian nationals in Iran, including students, pilgrims, business persons and tourists, have been advised to depart at the earliest.

According to official estimates in January, little over 10,000 Indians, including students, were living in Iran.
