Srinagar, March 7 -- The schools were scheduled to reopen on March 1 but the government extended the vacations by a week due to inclement weather.
Officials said around 10,000 government and private-run schools across the Kashmir valley reopened this morning and resumed their academic activities.
Many schools were decked up and small celebrations were held to welcome the students.
The students, many of whom were feeling bored and confined in their homes for such a long time, were excited going back their schools.
