Srinagar, July 11 -- Speaking at a special interaction with tour operators in Kolkata, Omar said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have waited long enough for the return of their democratic rights and administrative autonomy."We don't want to remain as a Union Territory. We want the responsibility of security to be ours," Omar said.

The Chief Minister also revealed that he had discussed the prevailing political situation in J&K with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during their recent meeting. He said Banerjee publicly supported the demand for the restoration of security powers to the elected government.
