Srinagar, March 30 -- Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam on Sunday evening said that enough witnesses for the sighting of Shawwal moon have been received from across J&K, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

He said that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31, across Jammu and Kashmir.

He also extended greetings to the Muslim Ummah, especially to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. "May this auspicious occasion bring with it a lot of joy, happiness, peace and prosperity for all of us," he said.

The Grand Mufti said people should remember the less privileged sections of the society while celebrating Eid on Monday.
