Srinagar, Oct. 14 -- Two weeks after holding them guilty in connection with a case involving trafficking of psychotropic substances, a court here on Wednesday sentenced two persons to 10 years of jail and imposed over Rs four lakh as fine on them.
The court-Special Judge NDPS Cases Srinagar, Vinod Kumar, on September 29 found the duo-Mudasir Sultan Bhat alias Majid and Feroz Ahmad Khan alias Jaja, both residents of Bemina, guilty under Sections 8/22 read with Section 29 of the NDPS Act.
Mudasir has been also found guilty under IPC Sections of 468, 471(forgery), and 420 (cheating) for orchestrating and facilitating the transport of psychotropic substances under the guise of legitimate pharmaceutical trade.
