Srinagar, June 19 -- The drainage project has been ongoing for over a month, leaving roads dug up and major pathways blocked. Locals said the area has become unsafe and unhygienic, especially for children and the elderly.

Earlier this month, SMC claimed to have carried out "temporary clearance" to ease the situation. However, locals said the measures have been ineffective, and they are forced to navigate debris-filled, uneven roads daily.

"The roads are still broken and dangerous. Even basic movement is risky. There have been no workers or contractors at the site for days," locals said, expressing frustration over the lack of visible progress.

They added that the so-called clearance has done little to improve accessibility or safety. "...
