Srinagar, Dec. 18 -- Dense fog blanketed large parts of Kashmir on Thursday, disrupting traffic movement and causing delays during the morning and evening rush hours.

Several major roads across the Valley witnessed poor visibility, including the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, Baramulla-Handwara road, Pulwama-Kulgam route and key roads within Srinagar city.

Officials said visibility dropped to less than 50 metres at several locations, forcing vehicles to move at slow speeds.

"Fog has significantly reduced visibility in many parts of the Valley, affecting both local and inter district travel," a Traffic Police officer said. "Additional personnel have been deployed on major routes to regulate traffic and prevent accidents."
