Shopian, Dec. 14 -- In a major step towards addressing water scarcity and strengthening climate resilience, District Development Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, IAS, has launched a pioneering Springshed Climate Adaptability Project in the Zainapora block, one of the most water-stressed regions of the district.

Approved under NABARD's Climate and Natural Resource Management grants, the project aims to rejuvenate natural springs, recharge groundwater, improve irrigation systems, and promote sustainable farming practices while ensuring long-term livelihood security for local communities.
