Srinagar, July 23 -- The clarification came in response to a question raised by Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi and is based on a nationwide study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research - National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR-NIE).
The study-titled "Factors associated with unexplained sudden deaths among adults aged 18-45 years in India: A multicentric matched case-control study"-was carried out between May and August 2023 across 47 tertiary care hospitals in 19 states and Union Territories.
Focusing on the age group of 18 to 45 years, the research examined deaths that occurred suddenly-either within 24 hours of hospitalisation or in individuals who appeared healthy 24 hours before dying. Importantly, the study excluded in...
