Srinagar, Feb. 6 -- The man, had reportedly been claiming to be Sufi saint Sheikh Nooruddin Wali (RA) and had invited people to visit his site if they were unable to travel for Umrah.

Following concerns raised by religious scholars, including Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, who had called for his immediate arrest, the individual was taken into custody.

Officials have stated that he will be sent to a mental health facility for evaluation before any further legal proceedings. [KNT]
