New Delhi, Dec. 1 -- Three newly elected Rajya Sabha members from Jammu and Kashmir were sworn in on Monday as Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office in the Upper House.
National Conference leader Sajad Ahmad Kichloo was the first among the new MPs to take oath. He chose Urdu for the ceremony. He was followed by Gurwinder Singh Oberoi, popularly known as Shammi Oberoi, who took oath in Punjabi. Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan took oath after Oberoi.
Another Rajya Sabha member from Jammu and Kashmir, Sat Sharma, had already taken oath earlier before the Vice President.
With these oaths, Jammu and Kashmir marks its return to the Rajya Sabha after more than four years without representation. ...
