Srinagar, July 21 -- Thousands of mourners joinedday-longMajalisf9ollowed byprocessions in Srinagar and other districts to pay tributes to the martyred Imam. Also known as Syed al Sajideen(AS) Imamwas the son of Imam Hussain (AS) and was 22 and severely ill during the battle of Karbala. He was later taken prisoner and eventually martyred in Madina on 25th of Muharram 95AH at the age 54 by Caliph Al Waleed bin Marwan.
Syed al Sajideen(AS),despite being extremely unwell,followed the call of his father Imam Hussain (A.S.) when no one was left for his assistance on the day of Ashura. Buthead of the ravaged caravanladyZainab (SA) stopped him because he was the only male member of the family of the Prophet (pbuh) left alive.
