SRINAGAR, Nov. 26 -- Taking serious note over rising pollution in Jammu and Srinagar cities, National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the government to finalise action plan for combating pollution levels in twin capitals.

There has been a steady increase in pollution levels in twin capitals-Jammu and Kashmir-thus taking a heavy toll on the health of people. The NGT has issued the directives as air pollution has been a matter of environmental and growing health concerns in the Jammu and Srinagar.

"Although the pollution level has not risen to alarming level but we are concerned about Jammu and Srinagar cities, which is a matter of concern. It is responsibility of everyone to ensure pollution level is reduced," an official of Pollution Co...
