Srinagar, July 19 -- The detentions took place during a series of raids conducted by the CIK at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley. The operation was linked to a two-year-old terror case registered under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
According to officials, suspicious technical signatures had earlier been traced at 10 locations in the districts of Budgam, Pulwama, Ganderbal, and Srinagar. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspects were using a specific encrypted messaging application widely known to be used by terrorists and their handlers for communication, financing, and recruitment.
